A suggestion for mild arthritis – MSM (don’t ask, I can’t spell it) is a substance that is in our joints, it’s a sulfur derivative, and as we age we all begin to make less. You can buy it at any health food store and most pharmacies (in the people vitamin and supplement area). When Gracie started showing signs of arthritis (didn’t want to walk any in the cool mornings but when I’d force her to go, she’d suddenly be fine after about half a block when her joints warmed up) I started giving her MSM twice a day and the difference was totally amazing. It’s cheap, easy to find, and often is packaged together with Glucosamine and Chondroitin – the package will say Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM. I think I’d start Snoopy on this now and try to keep his mild arthritis from getting worse. He’s young enough that the Glucosamine and Chondroitin can help keep him from getting worse, and the MSM works great for this kind of pain. It does not improve the condition, but does stop the pain, and if it’s going to work for him you will see the difference in a day or two max. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to put Cyrus on it, too, as a preventative.

Anita Woodrum

awoodrum@clear.net
