Couldn't help myself there sorry!
You can give human motion sickness pills. Make sure they contain Dimenhydrinate ( store brands are much cheaper). They usually come in 50mg and you can give up to 2 at once. But start with one. Try giving him one just to see what his reaction is. Not sure what the reaction was you referred to in your post- but these should not make him bounce off the wall :)
Also- you might try giving him a new toy or chewbone ( not something edible that will make him urk-but something to just keep him busy). Nylabones come flavored if he will chew that. Or a raw marrow bone- remove most of the marrow beforehand ( though this is perfectly safe for him to eat.). Keeping him busy may help with the motion sickness. Covering his windows to keep him from looking out may also help.
Layers of blankets or towels are a help if he does get sick. You can remove the dirty one and have clean unerneath. Gallon sized zip-loc baggies are great for containing towel and smell.
Safe travels!
