<html><head><style type="text/css"><!-- DIV {margin:0px;} --></style></head><body><div style="font-family:times new roman, new york, times, serif;font-size:12pt"><DIV>Oh, what have I done? I should have known better. Really. I should have. But .... oh dear ...</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>So, last week we foster failed. I signed the contract and made out the check and LuLu is now a Rutz. Ok, usually that should be good for some mischief. Nothing. Just my sweet little girl. So then I went and did it.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I went to the store and bought her a brand new collar and a little tag with her name and phone number on the front and her address on the back. It is a very pretty pinkish red collar and the tag is silver with little pink rinestones in it. I brought it home and and told her it was for my little princess. What WAS I thinking? I took off her old collar and put on the new one and she was quite pleased with herself. Head held a little higher ... eyes a little brighter ... and I think that is what started it. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>There is now a competition for the space on my pillow between me and Greg. Before Snoopy was gratiously ushering her into his space .... now there is a race to get there first and if Snoopy is first he SNARKS at LuLu as she gets up onto the bed. They still have to settle down all cuddled up ... his snark is about who will be closest to momPerson.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>She is shoving her way into line for treats instead of standing back and hoping she gets one too. She is joining in the laying in doorways game. Likewise the middle of the couch (oh, did you want to come up here too?)</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>And, there is a whole lot more barking going on too. LuLu now socializes the the neighbors dogs. Over the back fence we have a pug named Lovebug who is enamored with Snoopy. She barks really really quiet to call him ..... and ever since she got her collar LuLu runs to the fence where Lovebug is calling and barks back at her. Now, the tail is wagging and they are looking at each other through a knot hole in the fence ... but the thing is Lovebug is really, really quiet and LuLu can be heard by all the neighbors. She also barks at the little dogs next door AND the shepards on the other side. And if that isn't bad enough .... she stands in my flower beds to do it!!!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Yesterday I came home from my run and she was standing in a bed of pansies barking at Lovebug. All of the flowers were smashed flat!! I have river rocks which line my beds ... of which there are many. I dug one for my mother when she passed away, another for my father, and there are many others too carved out here and there in the yard. Cyrus knows they are my passion and the worst he does is pee into them (which is bad enough). Snoopy, when he first moved in ... watched me tend them and once or twice he teased me by stepping over the rocks when he could see I was looking. He even rolled over the rocks once to show me how clever he is. He pees on my flowers sometimes too but he leaves my beds alone.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Enter Princess LuLu. She now steps right over the river rocks like they weren't even there and steps ON the flowers like they didn't even exist!!! And barks to the neighbor dog. And is becoming quite emphatic about all she is entitled too. All because I bought her a fancy collar and tag and told her she was a princess. Yes, I've created a monster. And I'm sure this is only the beginning.</DIV>
