Bessie my 14 ½ year old went down in the rear after I came home from the Michigan Waddle. Taking the advice of Elder Clara we went to the vet and I asked about Adequan, the vet recommended 1 shot per week for 6 weeks and then we would reevaluate Bessie. She also gave me tramadol and Previcox for pain. The adequan shots have done wonders. About 24 hours after the injection she is steady on her feet, demanding and just full of herself. My question is I have heard and read that she should have 2 shots a week for 4 weeks. When we went in for the second shot I asked the vet and she said this is the way she does the Adequan shots. My concern is when we hit day six she is not as stable on her feet and she has problems getting up.
