<div>Maybe it's the time of year but our Shadow isn't eating again. I'm very interested to hear what the rest of you have to offer because this has gotten VERY old and I'm getting real frustrated. I know she must have been traumatized at mealtime before she came to us because she has always been scared to eat. Yes, scared. She acts like we're asking her to eat out of a bowl that has a snake in it! You would think that, after five years, she would be over whatever happened to her but mealtimes are still very stressful for her (and me!!). We've switched foods, added delectable things, just put it up figuring she'll eat when she's hungry (that was a bust. She actually started losing weight!), putting her in a room all by herself, hand feeding her....the list is endless. I'm out of ideas but today I found myself getting really upset with her about this. I was in a hurry this morning because I had to get going and there she stood, staring at her bowl. And its not that she doesn't eat because she's not hungry. Once she's looked at it long enough (sometimes up to a half hour) she'll eat the whole thing. I finally put a couple pieces of the hot dog that I had cut up in her food in between her teeth and then she ate the whole bowl of food. Right now we're chopping up a hot dog and putting that and some beef bullion in her kibble. We've added everything from hot dogs to smelly cat food to diced ham. I'm telling you, I've tried it all but we've run up against a brick wall this time. She's a small houndette and only gets half a cup of kibble with whatever I'm adding at the time twice a day but she really can't afford to lose weight. Any and all ideas would be very welcome!! </div>
