<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We had this debate recently at our house. For years we had never used heartworm prevention, because heartworm didn't happen here. Then the hurricane Katrina dogs came to Nor Cal and our world changed .... dogs started coming up heartworm positive more and more so I talked to Dr Heddin about a preventative. Now remember, I am the clueless momPerson and Dr Heddin has known me more than 10 years.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I told Dr Heddin that the rescue I currently foster for uses Advantage Multi (a topical). She sighed. She said "Dale, I like heartguard." I told her that I usually find that advantage keeps fleas and mosquitos at bay for 6-8 weeks and if we use the advantage multi then we HAVE to use it every 4 weeks right? She sighed. She said "Dale, I like heartguard." I told her I knew there were other topicals on the market but I had heard there are (rare) cases where those topicals make the dogs VERY sick. She sighed. She said "Dale, I like heartguard." I started to say something else and she finally said "DALE we will order whatever med you want but you are asking me what you should do and I am telling you that heartguard WORKS and isn't risky."</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>So, being as I'm clueless I just did what Dr Heddin said. My dogs are fine.</DIV>
