a lot of sadness in my time but this one shocked me so badly that I almost
passed out. This poor boy I took from Kansas City Pet Project the new Kansas
City Animal Conmtrol is in such bad shape I almost lost it.

It has been five days since
they contacted me and asked me if I would take him. He needed some vet work done
so on Thursday I told them I would take him they took him to the vet Friday to
get his vetting done for me shots, and exam, they called me Saturday and said
the boy was in such bad shape the vet said he needed to be PTS. Thank goodness
they did not listen to the vet and told them he was being taken into rescue. It
was too late Saturday to get him vetted so the vet treated him on Monday
and released him this afternoon and I just now brought him home. I am going
to try to figure out how to post pictures He is almost bald from fleas, he is so
thin every bone shows, I can put my thumb on one side of his tummy area and my
fingers across his back and can touch the other side of his tummy he is so thin.
His front teeth are all broken either someone hit him in the mouth several times
or he chewed through a metal chain or he has been eating rocks, I have never
seen such bad teeth before and I have seen a lot of horrible mouths coming from
puppy mill dogs. I gave him a bowl of kibble and after he got through eating I
picked up pieces of teeth that broke off off of the floor around the bowl. His
feet and legs are so twisted up in the front I do not know how he walks and gets
any where but he does. This boy needs a lot of help. I am not even sure if an
ortho Dr could fix these legs. I never saw anything as bad as his legs before.
Well he is safe now inside a cool room with plenty of food and water resting. He
is heartworm positive, so he needs a lot of rest. He has kennel cough, infected
eyes and ears, he is a very sickly boy and I just want to comfort him and let
him know he will be loved here in rescue. He has probably never felt love before
but he will now. It will be a while before he is ready for adoption he will
probably be spending a lot of time at the vet after he gets past his heartworm
treatment. <A
