recommended to me (and that I recommend to others) is The Basset
Hound Owner's Survival Guide by Diane Morgan. Diane was (I think)
a Drooler before I joined (more than a decade ago), and the book
contains comments and anecdotes from the list. It's illustrated by
Pam Tanzey.<br>

<p>I went to PetCo today to buy dog food. I'm there so much I
should have preferred parking. As I was waiting in line to
check out I noticed the book section by the registers. I
quickly scanned the books and guess what? No "how-to-raise a
basset" books! About 30 other books for golden retrievers,
terriers, poodles, labs, etc., but no bassets. Does that mean
bassets don't come with a manual?? or that they just haven't
written it yet because they haven't figured them out yet??
