Stupid powder, more than once I've threatened to cut them off. But .... I know they are acting this way because they feel GOOD. My vet is amazed, she cut Snoopy's Rimadyl from 2x daily to as needed. The web site says this will happen but I didn't believe it until it happened at my house.

Anyway, good for Cowboy!!

Lately, Cowboy has just been insanely energized. Six years old and now suddenly he has more energy than I can remember. I was out of town last week on business and now, for the past week, despite having been fed dinner, walked and played with, he has barked at me on and off, more on than off, for several hours each night.

I attempt to give him more food and occasionally he eats it.

I chase him and get down on the floor to play but he never gets worn out.

I give treats yet they only shut him up for the moment in which he's chewing them.

I give a full-body massage; it helps to quell the barking, until I stop massaging.

Is winter setting in and he needs more calories? Does he need longer walks, all of a sudden after 6 years of being content with the mile or two that he gets? Are the new Joint Max triple chews just turning him into a maniacal 2-year-old? Is all of our cheering for the Giants getting him riled up?
Is it something medical he's trying to tell me?

It's weird because he only barks at me. Comes right up in my face and just bark, bark, barks until I do something for him. I can't figure it out, but I am going insane trying to satisfy his needs and they are ever-changing. What works one night, doesn't work the next; and he isn't like this all day for James while I am at work. Any ideas? James thinks he is just being a spoiled brat, but I can't help but think there is something more to it.

Rupert seems like his usual self, but Cowboys energy is definitely getting to Ru too. When Rupert sees me get up to play with Cowboy, he has to come dominate the playtime and steal all the toys. When he sees me chase Cow, he joins the chase and pins Cowboy to the floor. When he sees me giving out treats or second dinners, of course, he is suddenly starving also.

Hmmmmm.....anyway, drool to all. Go Giants!

Kacy with Cowboy and
