I just want to send drool to all needing it, for whatever reason.<div><br></div><div>We were very lucky during this storm, no house damage or flooding, but we lost power Monday at 6 pm until a few hours ago. There was no phone service, either. It was COLD, DARK, but the hounds (and wine) kept me warm. Despite the inconvenience, I had to be grateful. So many had so much devastation, and many areas resemble a war zone. </div>
<div><br></div><div>Pierre jr. hurt his paw this morning, and fortunately I was able to get him to the Vet. No toes broken, but he has a nasty bruise, and will get all the meds he needs. He got mild sedation to get the x-rays done, and when I picked him up, I tried to get him to pee before I put him in the car. Nothing, but, then as I am pulling out of the driveway, he starts to unload. Well, I have a lovely Orvis car seat protection cover with a moisture barrier. On top of that is a dog crate bed, and under all of that, I giant plastic bag. So I get boy out of the car, clean up, put a spare bed and blanket on the back seat, and off we go. When I got home, I wanted my sister to get the other dogs out of the way, so Pierre wouldn't be mobbed coming into the house. By the time I got back to him, he made pee number two. It didn't even bother me, our power was back, (knock on wood, hope it stays on), phone is on, and Jr. is home. He just collapsed when he got into the house, and he is a real "stoned pony". </div>
<div><br></div><div>When I was at the Vet, I found out one of the receptionists, Barbara, lost her house in the storm due to fire. Last month she lost her Mom. If any one has a moment to send her a card, it may help cheer her up. I filled some bags with clothing for her. I don't know exactly how many are in her household, but I do know she is divorced with at least one son, one daughter, and I think the daughter's boyfriend was living with them. He bravely went into the fire to save one of the dogs. I didn't want to ask too many prying questions.</div>
