good info on blind dogs. I knew some of it but not all of it.?I did know a guy
who had a blind basset and a inground pool. She would run around that pool

been a nervous wreck and never let that happen. I have had alot of 1 eyed

arranging that. We're thinking at this point that it might be colitis, and it
looks as if we'll need to do an ultrasound.

Horton is so nervous that
taking him anywhere with strangers is a challenge. Because he had a car
accident, he's fearful around traffic; and new people, especially tall ones,
scare him silly. We also have an appointment on Tuesday with the
orthopedist--another challenge for this nervous boy.

Can the Drool
hounds please sling drool in his direction, so he'll soon feel good? We can't
work on his fears until his broken leg--a result of the accident--is healed
up. Crate rest for the leg isn't really conducive to meeting new folks and
getting over fears. But this little fellow is completely at ease with me, so I
know he will love someone who will defend him from the nasty cars and trucks
and help him know that people are not all bad. Of course, he's not going to a
new home until he's completely healed up.

You could say, Dale, that I
can deeply feel for Snoopy. After all, we've been dealing with the same thing
for a couple of weeks now. I can only hope the end is in sight for both
hounds.
Pam, food slave to the Dashing

bassets.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xGuoRGjCvmY

Can

watch it to the end, you will see that IAMS will donate food to "an orphan

my guess is he ate something you
didn't see that really upset his system,
and once it settles down he will be
fine. Until next time, of
course. Our Holly loves to eat nuts out of yards
on our walks, even
though one type makes her extremely sick. And of course
she tries to
snag all kinds of poop, some of which makes her sick.
(Really??!!). I
don't know that this is true, but I wonder if your Snoopy
is like my Holly
and has a very easily upset digestive system.

Sister
Holly da Dolly is my girl with the touchy tummy. The first year
she
was with us, she would get an upset stomach (and sometimes bloody
diarrhea)
at least 2 or 3 days every week. I'm not kidding, at least
2 or 3 days a
week. I'd give her Pepto-Bismol at the first sign of
intestinal screeching
and refusing food, and she would be back to normal
the next day, and then it
would start all over again. The bloody
diarrhea scared me to death, and I
felt like eventually she would develop
pancreatitis, which we all know can
be deadly. Once I started cooking
a special rice porridge (with meat and
veggies) and adding it to their
kibble, Holly stopped getting sick. She can
eat people food, all
kinds of treats, whatever, and she is fine as long as
she doesn't
score something nasty on a walk.

Oh, I forgot to mention
this - remember Holly hurt her back a couple of
weeks ago? The Vet
took an x-ray, and she asked me if I knew that Holly
eats rocks.
HUH??!!! Yep, the x-ray showed a bunch of little rocks in
her
stomach. Vet said not dangerous and nothing to worry about.
I was totally,
completely flabbergasted. Could not believe it.
Miss Picky eats rocks.
You just never know.

Anita
