Gracie,<div><br></div><div>Thank you very much for the clarification of the issues. Basil is a mild-mannered hound, and would never think to complain about my setup. But I can clearly see now that it is indeed my fault, and I will do my best to provide a better work environment for Basil.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I do believe, though, that he also has room for improvement. His jQuery skills are top-notch, but he hasn't quite managed to wrap his ears around the whole object-oriented PHP thing (he's quite good with procedural, but we're in the 21st century, after all.) To make this my fault, perhaps I haven't provided him enough access to training. (Hmm... I wonder if that excuse would work with MY employer.)</div>
<div><br></div><div>As far as flies go, he doesn't believe those are his responsibility. It also may have something to do with his poor eyesight... Waldo, his predecessor, used to remind me of the scene in the Karate Kid with the chopsticks. He'd patiently wait for a fly to buzz past him, then SNAP! He'd catch it so quickly I almost couldn't see it happen.</div>
<div><br></div><div>In any case, I take full responsibility. Basil thanks you for your advocacy.</div><div><br></div><div>-Esther, Basil, and Waldo ATB<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Tue, Apr 30, 2013 at 5:29 PM, Dale Rutz <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:dalerutz@sbcglobal.net" target="_blank">dalerutz@sbcglobal.net</a>></span> wrote:<br>

<div> </div>
<div>We have been trading e-mails with your Basil and apparently it's all your fault he can't catch your bugs. Bassets are great at catching bugs, at our house there are never any flies inside, never, we catch every single one. No other bugs either. Nada.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>So here is the deal. Basil's perch is not situated such that he can clearly see the screen while you code. We aren't able to determine from here if your screen is too small or your resolution too big (please us no larger than 800 x 600 if you need basset help, our eyesight is only fair) or if the whole problem is that poor Basil is not able to sit DIRECTLY behind the screen in an ergonomically correct fashion like we do at our house. The clueless momPerson has a queen size futon folded up into a couch DIRECTLY behind her monitor and uses 800 x 600 at home so that we can catch her bugs for her while she codes.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>So you see it is not a training issue (at least not as far as Basil's training is concerns), as it seems you have not set up the home office correctly and so apparently it's you who needs training.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Love,</div>
