Because company is coming tomorrow (like most years). We have 4 cats, 2 of which are long haired, and 4 Bassets, 2 of which shed like maniacs. So I waited to do the vacuuming until this morning, get out the Dyson and off I go. Until the belt broke (my fault), and no I do not have an extra. Changed and scrubbed my face a bit, grabbed the broken belt and off I go to the Vacuum Cleaner store up the road. Nope, they don’t have the correct belt, it seems that Dyson belts change yearly and they have to be the correct one. Called a friend (who is coming over tomorrow) and said I’m on the way to get your vacuum, mine just broke and I’ve only swept about 20% of the house. No problem, got the Dyson (and bought lunch), got home and got it done. Looks great. Next.

When the vacuum belt broke I was back and forth between the living room (where it broke) and the tool drawer in the kitchen. Screw drivers to take the power head apart to see what is going on here. So when I got back from my mad vacuum cleaner dash, I realized that I’d left the kitchen barrier open about 8 inches. And Sister Bea went in and ate all the cat food. Again. I think there’s a screw driver missing, too. Surely she didn’t… Anyway, I’ve had it, all the cat food has been moved to the laundry room and permanent barriers are up and the cats are going to have to lump it. Mama is mad. And Sister Bea slept a long time, then got up and went out the pet door and puked on the ramp. Oh yeah, I know who ate the cat food. No dinner for Sister Peeg (as Holly calls her).

Brined the turkey with no mishaps and it’s now resting in the refrigerator. I am sitting in front of the computer watching videos on YouTube while snapping the green beans for tomorrow. Here comes Baxter the chow hound begging for raw green beans. I said you don’t want raw green beans. Oh yes he does, he’s laying right here eating as many pieces as I’ll give him. What a bunch. And I still have to make the stuffing and get it into the refrigerator for tomorrow morning. Oh no, just dropped the bag of beans, gotta go. Happy Thanksgivukkah to all!

Anita Woodrum

awoodrum@clear.net
