<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small">Mr. Cooper Sir, notabasset but close, was so terrified of the smoke alarms that he would dash outside and it would literally take an hour or longer to get him back in, no matter what the weather. The Bassets, always alert, were a lot slower, but once they realized how afraid Cooper was, they were outside too. Other than not having a doggie door this was a good thing: it meant the dogs were safe even if we had a major problem inside the house and we had to get out, too. We did not have to worry about where the dogs were.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small">NEVER EVER EVER FOR ANY REASON EVER TAKE THE BATTERIES OUT.
