<span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Comic Sans MS";color:purple">Second, our Teddi (14-1/2) was just diagnosed with Lymphoma yesterday! This has been going on for about 2 months… all of a sudden she became a picky eater. When she
first started getting finicky I switched TOTW flavors from the lamb back to the buffalo. That worked a bit, but then I left out the yogurt and she ate again. Then she sprained her wrist the same day that Madden (15-1/2) had her surgery to remove some large
fatty tumors, so I bought some canned Pedigree as a way to say I was sorry she had to have surgery and Teddi only ate that and not her kibble. 2 weeks later we were noticing how we could see a difference in her weight so I took her to the vets and she had
lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks so I had them check her out thinking it may have been her teeth. Nope – she had an abscess on her butt and it had burst, so she had to have surgery and they found that both anal glands were infected, so they flushed them out and sewed
up the abscessed area. When she got home she was SO mad at me and wouldn’t look at me (but when Shawn walked by her, her tail wagged like crazy!) and she wouldn’t take her meds and then she wouldn’t eat Pedigree so I tried Alpo Prim Cuts and she ate that.
With her meds, I put them in pill pockets and I thought she was taking them, then later I’d find them on the ground, so I’m not sure how many she actually ate! Anyways, 2 weeks go by and I take her back ‘cuz she’s still not eating much and she lost another
5 pounds, so we had blood tests done and x-rays and they found that her liver was enlarged and there seemed to be a mass in her diaphragm, so they put us in contact with a specialist to have an ultrasound done. They took more chest x-rays and the ultrasound
and did an aspiration on her kidney. They found a bunch of “highly suspicious nodules” in her lungs, liver, kidneys, spleen and lymph nodes and then yesterday the results from the aspiration came back as Lymphoma! We have decided not to do chemo and just
do the prednisone treatment. Hoping the pred will get her appetite back! To say that I am heartbroken is an understatement! We will let her eat whatever she wants (within reason) and love on her as much as she’ll allow! She’s still not “talking” to me
– when I lay down next to her she gets up and moves. I guess she’s mad at me for forcing the pills down her throat, but I need to make sure she’s taking them, right?!?!
