<DIV> Monday morning at 1 AM a car driven by a 15 year old kid at 100
MPH hit the retaining wall in front of our house, went airborne and took out the
top layer of most of our wall, cut down our 20 year old Japanese maple, sent
shards of our blue planters into our siding, woke up Millie and then took
out our neighbor's porch and crashed into the corner of their house,
opening it up and then continued across the street and ended up in the opposite
direction on the lawn of the people across the street. Sirens were
blaring, lights flashing and the cops shouting "Get your hands up and get out of
the car." Made a mess of our front yard and plantings and caused
Millie to be stressed out for a few hours. No one at our house
hurt. If it had not been for our wall, the car would have surely hit
our house. The kid's parents came over the nest day and gave us their
insurance information. Seems the car was taken w/o their knowledge and
went for a joy ride. Another teen was in the car, too. Now we wait
for our insurance company to get things cleaned up and fixed.
