OK, we have had the pup a couple of weeks, and we put a timer on and take him out every 45 min. He then pees. But once in a while he pees in the house, on a dog bed, carpet or floor. Any ideas on how to make him clue in?<br>
We don?t have a dog door, and it is a little chilly to be leaving a door open.<br>

I too fear we may parish, and I too am guilty of not contributing<br>

to our daily read as often I as I should. So Bill, I will try to do<br>

better. Truman and I have just entered into our first Rally<br>
<br>
Trial. I am turning 64 years of age this year and I couldn't even<br>
<br>
fill out the damn entry form. Had to write to the Trial Secretary<br>
<br>
begging for help. She thought I was a Junior Handler.......<br>
<br>
I said no, just a Senior Handler who doesn't know what to put<br>
<br>
on the form - or how much $ to send. We'll see if we actually<br>
<br>
get entered into this Trial, if not, I'm committed to try again.<br>

my dexter has been a therapy dog now for just over 1 year.? he is registered with the alliance of therapy dogs (ATD).? we visit a local hospital, & a sr home? regularly.? he has also visited college dorms and a sr center too.? he is a natural at it.? the boy is scary good , sensing things i can not.? during one of our visits, he climbed up on a patients bed (he knows he is only allowed paws only) and slid right up against the patient, a woman who was what i would call in a coma.? he then rested his head against her crossed arms and brethed deeply and noisy.? his body was pressed firmly against hers.? she begain crying silently.(she did not appear to be in pain) ? i was trying to get him off the bed and dexter who is very obedient did not budge.? finally he gave a few more sighs and slid off the bed.? the air felt charged.? it was as if something special had occurred. ?<br>
on another visit we were in a room with a hospice patient.? i had him sit in a chair next to the patient's bed.? we placed his hand next to dexter's ear.? the man began stroking his ear.? he continued stroking it until he fell into a deep sleep, something that he had not done for the previous few days.? dexter meanwhile sat in the chair vigorously wagging this tail. ?<br>
he walks thru the hospital and staff come out of offices to visit with him, children play with him, some staff offer him his favorite treat of sliced apples.? now the entire hospital knows him and says hi.? he donned an ugly sweater for the ugly sweater contest and was dressed as a moose for halloween. ?<br>
at the sr home the patients adore him.? they keep track of him..reminding me if he looks like he is gaining weight, losing weight, nails look long, etc.? i starteed a program where some of them "walk" him in the hallways and brush him...so everyone gets involved.? they are our family and he is their family.<br>
he loves doing the therapy work.? i do as well.? it is amazing to see him do his job and how much of a difference it makes.? best thing i ever did!<br>

Mr. Bill Armstrong us gurls are still here. Mom doesn't post too much but we all get to read. We don't do face book. I had a bout with acute pancreatitis on New Year's eve and spent 24 $$ hours at the ER vet. Then I had more fluids at my own vets after the holiday but am fine now. They just need to feed me more. We, too, would be devastated if this email list dies, and have seen the<br>
activity drop off. I personally am getting to the point where I almost never<br>
use Facebook, and cannot see that changing - except maybe deleting my<br>
account altogether. I really hate the format and the intrusion of Facebook<br>
into people's lives. I can never find anything I want without scrolling<br>
through pages of posts. And I really don't like all the politics and<br>
snarkiness. So I, for one, will be here as long as the email list lives on.<br>
And, if it goes away, I won't be participating in Daily Drool activities<br>
anymore after I dunno - 15 years or so? If there was a mail list that<br>
supported photos, maybe more people would do an email list again. Because<br>
there are always moments that are great to share, questions to be asked,<br>
advice to pass along or to learn. I would hate to lose that.<br>

Send them as attachments; if you paste them directly into the body of an email, the email software usually makes them much smaller than the originals.<br>

We don?t think you?re full of it! Just wanted to pop in and say hi.<br>
It?s been busy. Peanut is hanging in there, she will have her eyes done in a week. Her eyelashes are always drooping and her eyes now. She will also have a dental. Gator is growing up to be a big boy. 7 1/2 months old and almost 54 pounds. Dolly, his mama, is doing well. The pickiest eater I have ever ever known! She?s almost 38 pounds. She?s also very active. There?s definitely one I never have to worry about being too big LOL we had a puppy reunion a couple of weeks ago and it was really wonderful to see all of them together. They are growing up quick.<br>

Are they on a phone? I had the same problem submitting my pictures for the<br>
calendar. I was sending them via text instead of e-mail. If you e-mail them<br>
you can choose the size. Hope this helps.<br>

I am Merta Lou Professional Lady Basset, Investigative Journalist, and<br>
several other things I cannot remember right now.<br>
I see the List is dying. Or so you guys say. Yeah I guess it isn't what it<br>
used to be, hunh? Can't put photos on it and everyone likes the photos so<br>
they go to Fazebook.FB isn't very friendly sometimes I am told.<br>
<br>
I would hate to see the list go away because I know MomPerson has enjoyed<br>
it over the years and still cannot get over all the people who instantly<br>
offered to help her when she was picking me up in West Virginia and Mr Doc<br>
got so "sick" and couldn't walk and wouldn't stand up or eat or anything<br>
and she thot she'd kilt him for real. She cried she was so overwhelmned<br>
with nice people trying to help, willing to drive and find her and help.<br>
That really defined the Daily Drool for her and she has not forgotten.<br>
<br>
A lot of those dogs are gone I guess and many of the silly puppies are old<br>
and creaky now (some owners too) and we have lost some good people and<br>
great dogs but if you want it to keep going then keep it going: you know<br>
how. even if you just write "Hi Bill" or "Good dreams everyone" each day it<br>
will work.<br>
