I hope all are staying safe during these times!!!

Our pup George (not a basset) is keeping us smiling as he is always a very happy boy. This year of 2020 has been really eventful and NOT in a good way. Jan. 27 Mike was in heart failure!!!! Out of no where the electrical current to his lower heart said …ho hum…we are going to short out. Only symptom he had was he had to stop and catch his breath when walking up a small hill. Now he is a very athletic guy….shoes horses, rides horses….so this was not normal….and being a retired first responder we take his pulse…..35. So for those of you who are alittle medical….yup that is not good. Call his dr. she says get to ER NOW!! And June is driving….so off we go they hook him up to EKG…OMG!!! I knew our life was about to change. He was shipped off to the big city hospital in Green Bay and had a temporary pace maker put in……Friday was a bunch of testing …Sat morning he gets a permanent pace maker. Holy Crap….the biggest thing is…there is no sign of heart disease no blocked arteries….just no current running to the lower part of his heart. So now I just call him my Tony Stark. And through all this he says he didn’t feel any different than he feels now…..what is amazing is…he comes home Sunday noon…feeling just fine. Thank goodness…but, it makes one really take a look at life. What is really important….friends. So I guess that is why I am going to try and stay connected. So many of you I have known a long time and you got us thru so much…..friends and family are the most important.

Then his horse Corinne….comes up sick ….IV’s every day for 7 days….that doesn’t do it another set of IV’s for 7 days her legs swell…..plus another antibiotic …….now mind you this is happeneing the Sun Mike comes home from hospital. So we chug along and do everything we can and now Corinne is doing better but it has been a long journey more ways than one. The vet thinks that she had the tick disease anaplasmosis….then a secondary infection ……

I pray that since I have been just lurking here and there that those of you that I know are doing fine during this crazy thing going on in the world now. Mike, George and I are still on the farm with the horses and have closed the barn to only vets and farriers…..so the boarders are staying away. Most are staying home there are 1 or 2 that have essential jobs so they are working.

I am thankful that I still can read the drool and see how all are…and even am getting to learn who is new……Please all stay safe.

June (ATB Gus Gus, Elmo, Nala Nicole and Leroy….all my bassets that gave so much joy)

June Scheunemann

Mike Bernsdorf

Equine Enterprises LLC

16706 Hilltop Road

Reedsville WI 54230

920-775-3818

equineent@tm.net

equineenterprisesllc.com
