[Secretpawtner] Recap and new clue

My memory being what it is, I love it when posters "recap" clues, so I'll do the same for my SP, and then add a new clue,
 
1. My SP is a frequent poster to the Drool, whose posts are always supportive, and are occasionally written in bassetese.
2. Both the canine and feline species are represented in my SP's household.
3. My SP recently voted for Elder Clara for basset of the week.
4. My SP has attended a basset event in the last year.
5. The Travel Channel this year chose the city in which my SP works as "Number 1 college town".
6. My SP is no stranger to severe weather.
7.  
        Just once as 'tis
        Hope is avid.
        Or by hug once accrued.
