Are we your secret pawtner?  I have the one houndette, have the 4 kitties, other wannabes on top of that, Torrance became a city the same year New Mexico became a state, (which I found out through doing the research), and California is certainly west of New Mexico.  Your #3 clue is the one that's throwing me off.  I don't know what that is, Oprah and CBL ...I'm stumped on that one...  Wish I had the $350 million in common with Oprah...LOL!!!
