[Secretpawtner] While we are waiting...

While we await the distribution of our Secret Pawtners, I thought it might
be fun to reminisce about past exchanges. Each year has been fun, and there
are lots of great memories.
After my stem cell transplant in August of '06, I received a very unexpected
box of goodies. It was so nice to be remembered while I was so out of the
loop.
But my ultimate memory is from several years ago, when I was blessed, or
cursed, depending on the viewpoint, of having Dear Dawn for my secret
pawtner. Let me explain that I am a pretty trusting soul, and was clueless
(no pun intended) as to whom to suspect. She broke all the rules, spending
more than I am sure she should have, and extending the time way beyond the
limit. She enlisted many others from all over the country to help in her
nefarious schemes, and I got packages from everywhere, making it even harder
to figure out who the heck it was! And her most inventive ruse was at the
BHCA Nationals in Gettysburg (the first one), where she had the final gift
delivered to my room, while I had dinner with her and Rich. If this doesn't
qualify as the sneakiest, most conniving, most devious, most duplicitous act
ever, I don't know what should.
So if you get Dawn for your pawtner, you are in for a wild ride. Although I
am not sure she could top herself in that case.
Dawn, just wait, someday, I'll get you, my pretty...
