 I made a mistake in my last post to my secret pawtner.  I said that there were 41 post offices in her area.  Actually there are 61. Wow. Since I made that mistake I will give another clue.  Your state has a state dog but it isn't a basset. It is much much bigger. Here is a recap of other clues.
Ok here is the first clue for my SP. You are 381.03 miles from my front door which is a little closer than some of my secret pawtners have been in the past.
