Hi all...wonderful fellow droolers:

I just want to say thank you, thank you and thank you from the bottom of my
heart!!!  You are one exceptional group of people!!

My husband , Paul Sheldon, has been hospitalized since mid February after
having a severe stroke.  Needless to say my life has not been the same
since.  Being a daily drool follower and drool donor as needed up until that
day, I have never been at the receiving end of the "magical drool".  Well,
Paul has received about 20 get well cards with photos to date; and we have
made a daily ritual of looking at the drooler's cards and photos together
and then I tape them to the wall  opposite his bed. A corner of his nursing 
home
 room now has customized drool basset wallpaper.  He has been really 
enjoying the cards &
 I hope that more are on the way.

Today was not a good day.  He has not been participating in rehab therapy;
& they are going to discontinue his physical, speech & occupational therapy.
 He is very frustrated and depressed; and frankly I didn't know whether to 
cry or wring his neck.
Today when I got home there was a package from drooler Jean Harris & the 
Wild Bunch waiting for me.
 How can anything basset related not cheer you up.  Just what the doctor 
ordered &
 the photo of the wild bunch will be added to my husband's rehab room wall.
I also received an adorable good luck hound stretchy bracelet from another 
secret partner
 in Frenchtown, Mt.  Hopefully it will bring some good luck our way.  Thank 
you both for
the wonderful surprise pick me ups!!!

I would like to make an offer of a donation of the total postal costs for 
all the cards received by Paul to the Daily Drool.
Hopefully he'll get motivated by seeing all the hounds in his room to get 
his act in gear to get home to be with his
 Honey, the love bunny basset.  His mailing address  (hopefully temporary)

 I must admit that I get as much joy looking at the cards and photos myself 
as well!!!
