Secretpawtner I have given you 5 clues which have not made you  guess yet 
so maybe we can recap and add a couple to help you along.
 
Clue 1-You live 10 hours from me and & live in  TN
 
Clue 2-You have 1 less basset than I do and I have  2
 
Clue 3-the name of your city is the same as the name of your  county
 
Clue 4-Your city was named the 7th best small town in America  in a May 
2012 national publication
        
              Also your hounds name could have been a nickname for a good 
ol' southern  boy
 
Clue 5-the name of your city is someone who  serves
 
Now - Clue No. 6 - You have received something from me already  and....your 
hound's name could also be a nickname for a sibling. (since I can  tell you 
aren't from the south)
