Just in case I overlooked someone!

IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING THIS YEAR, PLEASE READ EVERY WORD, including the SP digest info. If you are not participating, read the SP digest info to find out how to unsubscribe. I cannot do this for you because it involves a password.

Hello Everyone!  Here are the details for this year’s secret pawtner:

Sign ups start NOW and end Sunday August 13th - that’s just about a week so please, if you want to play, do it NOW.

How to sign up:

Send an email to dlindy at mac.com with YOUR NAME and CLUES or NO CLUES in the subject line. No need to add anything else.  ALL CAPITAL LETTERS - even better! This will help me not overlook your email.

Include the following information:

Your name 
Your email address even though it’s in the address box - this saves me time!
Your mailing address - if you use a P.O. Box, please include a street address for FedX or UPS
Stop and check to make sure everything is correct - especially the zip code!
Names of your bassets, wannabes - ages if known and M or F are good to include
Anything else you’d like to add - allergies, restrictions, things you collect, suggestions, etc. 

Add a note if you are interested in mini secret pawtner - we will only do it if there is enough interest.  We just don’t have enough people playing these days to not give out the same names to the same people over and over. 

Names go out by August 20th   Please do not post to the SP digest until  you have the all clear from me. I will do my best to accomplish this - it’s one reason you need to sign up ASAP!  I will reply to your sign up email so 

Deadline for MAILING your package or at least your first package is August 30.  This means you only have 10 days to get your package out.  Please plan ahead if you ordering something to be sent to you and then mailed to your pawtner.  It is not fair to the person you are sending to if you can’t do this ON TIME. If you are mailing multiple packages, the rest out need to be mailed within a reasonable time frame.  If something comes up to prevent you from mailing your package on time, let me know ASAP.  Remember you can always order from a rescue and they will send you package for you  and include a message.  If your pawtner has guessed you, please include your name and email address in your package.  If you get a package and don’t know who to thank, post to the SP digest or email me. 

Thank yous are a must - please let me know if you are not going to be home when your package may arrive so I can let the sender know. People get upset and offended when they don’t hear that the package they sent was received and appreciated. 

Budget is $45 for regular secret pawtner and $25 for mini secret pawtner IF we have enough people to do it.  This does not include postage. You may do a clues and a no clues SP or a regular and mini if you like.  Mini secret pawtner is a no clues list if we do it.

New players are welcome and needed. If you know of someone who would be interested, let me know.   Please be patient with any new players and the clues - we need new people to keep going!

Care packages - I don’t have anyone that I’m aware of right now that could use a care package; if you know of someone please let me know.  If you’re willing to send a care package, add that to your info.  

Out of the country players - We only have a couple of out of the country players but if you are willing to send to someone outside of the U.S. please add that as well. 

SECRET PAWTNER DIGEST:

If you played last year and did clues you should still be signed up. If you don’t want to receive the clues, you need to unsubscribe. 

Address to post a clue - remember, the clue is about the person you are sending to - secretpawtner at lists.dailydrool.org   Please hit the return a few times so when your message appears it’s not practically in the address box. So much easier to read!

To manage your subscription to the SP digest (you can get individual emails for every post or get them in list form), go here:  http://lists.dailydrool.org/listinfo.cgi/secretpawtner-dailydrool.org    I just emailed Melissa about the dates so it may not yet be updated for this year but that has no effect on subscribing or unsubscribing or changing how you get the clues.  As with the regular Drool, please don’t reply to an email in the digest - start a new email, please.  The archives appear to be working if you need help with creating clues about your pawtner.  Please go to the site and see what info is available there for you.  

Please note:  Email me with any questions or concerns,  I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you don’t hear from me in a day, email me again or message me on FB.  The best way to not get overlooked (I get a LOT of emails every day) is to put your name in all caps in the subject line just like you are signing up.

We desperately need new people to keep this going - if you have any ideas about how to accomplish that, let me know.  Right now it is open to members of the Daily Drool internet list or past players that are on Nancy’s Daily Drool page on FB.   We do have to be careful about participants - they HAVE to follow through and not sign up to get a package and then not send one.
