[Dailydrool] Another voice pleading for foster homes

I think one reason some folks won't foster is because they are afraid they 
will get so attached to the dog and then will have to let it go.  Well, it 
IS hard!  I foster for a rescue called 7 Bells Sanctuary.  We are not a 
breed specific rescue....we do however usually only take the senior 
citizens!  Anyway, the things I keep telling myself when a qualified adopter 
comes along are that, first, I KNOW these folks are good folks because I 
know the process that our adopters have to go through.  Second, I know that 
once this loved little foster of mine goes on to it's new furever home I 
have an "empty" spot at my house so that I can help save another dog by 
fostering.  Also, the way our rescue works is that I (as the foster parent) 
get to meet the prospective new parent.  If I pick up on something that I 
don't like I can always tell the folks that I just don't think that 
particular dog will work in their home.  I think explain it to Judy (our 
head honcho) and that's all it takes.  Judy certainly trusts her foster 
homes to have the best interest of the dog at heart!
