[Dailydrool] Bassets, Bassets, Everywhere...

So we are home from BoardWaddle - what fun! So many wonderful houndies! I
didn't get as many photos as I would have liked as wrangling 3 Hounds took a
bit of work, but did take some.

We parked at the lot by the finish as recommended, so had already been on a
bit of a waddle to get the starting gathering to register. Then we we
settled in the shade under a tree. Doheny was resting up, and playing the
Diva. She graciously posed for photos and accepted pets, but the public had
to come to her. The boyz (Zuma and Kahuna) were a bit more active in getting
to know those who walked by.

When we finally got going, and I got Doheny on her feet, all was reasonable
well for about a 1/4 mile. Then Doheny peeled off and did a Flat Basset in
the shade under a parked car. Some kind souls with a wagon picked her up and
we continued. Doheny wondered what took so long, and had a very regal air,
missing only the queenly wave. After another 1/4 mile, Zuma thought his
sister had it pretty good and was getting jealous. Fortunately, there were
more kind souls with another wagon, so he got a ride too. We went for a
while, but it was challenging with Kahuna socializing along the route and
trying to watch my other two in the wagons. When the Pooped Pup truck came
along, I thanked our good Samaritans and put everyone in the trailer. Kahuna
and the other riders were watching the scenery. Zuma and Doheny went to
sleep. Doheny was disgusted when they made her get out of the trailer and
still refused to walk (she was also refusing to look at me by this point for
subjecting her to such torture). After another Flat Basset I picked her up
and we started walking again. The lady with the "Parched Pup" water wagon
came along, took pity, and we loaded Doheny in there and FINALLY made it to
the field and the picnic. Honestly, I was so tired by this point, with
Doheny going flat and the boyz pulling all directions that after eating, we
left. I put them in the DroolMobile (it had gotten overcast, windy, and
quite cool, so they were fine in there sleeping it off) while I made a quick
solo trip on the Boardwalk then headed back to the hotel. We all took a 3
hour nap. What a great day! And so fun with all the houndies at the
Residence Inn. I also had Maggie the Saint with me, but that is a whole
other story.....

Here are the photos I did take:
