Menzie--
Toby, the 1 year old basset he was interested in, has a partially torn ACL and has to have surgery. Hopefully, Adam will stay interested. I know it is true for all of the rescues, but our medical bills are waaay up there. Owners are surrendering because they can't afford vet bills. We have Roscoe with Addisons who needs a $125.00 injection once a month. His humans were fine for several years and then the husband lost his job. We have Bonnie who had one eye removed due to glaucoma and the other one will have to be shortly. I know all the rescues are in the same boat we are--
We are getting our first foreclosure basset. Foreclosures aren't that bad here--I am sure some of you are really getting hit with that. This rescue business is not for the faint of heart. Two get adopted and four more come in--- Bless everyone who is involved in saving the bassets.
(During the actual broadcast we received 2 adoption applications and one foster
application--so the bassets did a good sales job. It was very hot and past their bedtime, so they
were very calm. I don't think the result would have been the same with all of them doing the Basset 500
and barking like maniacs)

" Marilyn - that was a GREAT video! So.. did this Adam newsperson adopt
a basset from y'all
