I'm wondering what your favorite tips and tricks are for first time
basset-parents?

The easiest one! Your basset rules your social life. Lesson one. April is 
BoardWaddle time, so send me your name and snail address so your new houndie 
can join  500 or so of her homeless friends in walking on the Ocean City New 
Jersey boardwalk......to help the homeless hounds of Tri-State Basset 
Rescue!

Second......September is picnic time. Make sure you pencil in the Tri-State 
Basset Rescue September picnic in Pennsville, NJ for September 21, 
2008...last year was the celebration of Tri-State's 20th year so start off 
with the 21st!

Your houndie is lucky to have you and you are lucky to have found a new 
friend...who will need to make lots of floppy earred new friends. Prepare to
