the in-ground waste disposal systems such as the Doggie Dooley are a
great idea, but not as workable as they could be. First of all, the
average system won't handle the waste of more than one dog, so you'd
need to convince Jace and Sterling to only poop on alternate
days. Second, they must be installed beneath the frost line in order
for them to work in the winter, so you'd need to dig a very deep
hole.
I have heard of people successfully creating a functional
multi-dog system by burying a 50 gallon drum under the frost line and then
installing a large pipe to the surface, or putting the 50 gallon drum
under the commercial doggy dooly. The enzyme product you add to the
system breaks down the poo, kind of like a septic system and it drains in
to the ground. I guess you must need to put drainage holes in the
drum somewhere.
Now, if you were really smart, you'ld build one
of these things and then teach Jace and Sterling to poop right into the
pipe - no clean-up!!
Hugs to my grandbabies!
