Leslie we have also had the same questions.  From 'what kind of spaniel is that?' with Pumbaa, to 'is he a large dachshund?' with Morse?  I have never needed to give sour looks though, I think Pumbaa\Morse have always understood the question and gazed in utter disbelief and disapproval at the person in question.
