[Dailydrool] martingale collars, drool requested

I, too, swear by martingale collars.  It's all we use now for walking
bassets.  We used to use sllip collars, but stopped the year at
Nationals that Deuce learned that if she ran all the way to the end of the
Flexi-lead, turned around to face momma, and dropped her head just so, the
collar would slide off over her head and go flying back at momma and Deuce
would be free free free!

But it is very important to get them
on right.  More than once, when I've put the collars on the bassets
in a hurry as they came barrelling out of their crates or out of a gate or
whatever, Ive gottne them wrong and the next thing I knew, said basset was
wearing the collar as a belt and was very close to being loose.

And I could use some drool here.  it's not for a basset.  It's
for our otterhound Sister.  She apparently has been studying the
calendar and noticed that the Otterhound Nationals were coming up (like
next Friday) and, knowing she was likely to be very competitive for
Winners Bitch, she decided to break her toe to take the pressure
off.  She is now wearing a blue club-like bandage on her foot that
goes clear up to her elbow and is on restricted activity for the next 4
weeks.  So much for my dreams of winning at the Nationals with
her.
