[Dailydrool] Moderators

The Drool was fortunate enough to have some excellent moderators but,
because of certain circumstances, they are on hiatus right now. Hopefully
they will return because the Drool currently has 3,000+ members, and that
many people need to have some guidance at times. The moderators don't play
favorites with the posts, but they do try to keep issues from turning into
barroom brawls. They have done a wonderful job of closing down threads when
those threads become vitriolic or off-base. They watch to make sure that
people obey the rules of the Drool and make every attempt to keep the site
within the boundaries that were set a long time ago. It is a thankless job
as people sometimes get extremely aggravated because their rant post was
rejected and then take out their frustrations on the moderators. It is a
job that most of us would never want, but believe me when I say that the
moderators are needed.

Each one of us believes that we would never post anything against the rules.
But it happens. And once it happens, it is easier to do it the next time.
Whether a negative post is written in anger or it is an angry response to
someone else's post, it should be rejected if it contains words or phrases
that are intended to be hurtful or are "against the rules". It is very hard
(and almost impossible) for each of us to be objective when we are upset;
that's why the moderators were always there - to keep us from saying
something that would start a range war.

So please, moderators, when your two-month hiatus is over and you are
deciding what to do - PLEASE COME BACK!
