Bill here, press agent/personal trainer to Miss Angela Basset, Droop and Drool Diva of Wichita and Sedgwick County

Last night, Miss Angela was a velcro dog. When I got home from playing bar trivia
(this was just before midnight), she just could not get enough cuddling, stroking and closeness. I gave her nearly an hour of affection, even getting down on the floor where she could snuggle up to me. About 1, I decided to go to bed so I let Angie out into the back yard to do her business. She went right out, squatted and did her business. Then she walked around sniffing until she found just the right place for her serious business. That completed, she kept poking around, pushing the snow around with her muzzle. After about ten minutes, I went to the back door and found her standing about 8 feet away, wagging her tail. When I called, she wouldn't come (not unusual). I got a treat and showed it to her. She still refused. I went out to corral her and she ran from me. I gave up and went back inside to read for about 20 minutes. Then I just had to get to bed so I cut up a wiener, hid her antibiotic (for her oral surgery) in one end of it, and went out to coax her in. It took a while, but I got her to the back steps. Then, both by putting her leash on and by offering more pieces of the hot dog, I managed to get her in.

One would think that that would be the end of that. Usually she just comes in, checks her food dish (it never hurts to check), and hops up on the couch to sleep the night away. Instead, velcro dog was back. I scratched her ears for a while and then went upstairs for the night. Angela followed me, despite knowing that she is not allowed upstairs. She had not done this since she was a buppy. I decided not to contest it and went to bed. Angela lay down by the bed for a while, then moved to the end of the bed. She spent the night there. About 7:15, she began quietly to whine, reminding me that it might be time to get up. I cleaned up and came downstairs, she followed and has been normal all morning. I have no earthly clue what is up with her.
