Many of you may remember our puppy mill story and the cute pups we saved in
October. Chanel was the little runt of the litter of pups and became sick
with pneumonia.here medical care became very expensive and the Clarke family
wanted to help her and adopt her as she had a long road ahead with hip
issues too, so in early November the Clarke family brought Chanel to their
home to continue her medical care. Dianna, Norm & Gabi (along with Milo
and KirbyJohn their rescued Bassets) went above and beyond to help Chanel.
They loved her with all their hearts which are very broken as they made a
very difficult decision yesterday.Chanel Deanna Clarke is at the Rainbow
Bridge.

I was blessed to have spent last Saturday night caring for Chanel and she
was so SWEET and you could tell so LOVED and SPOILED rotten (as should all
Bassets be).I know the care that they gave was time consuming but all out of
love for their Chanel. God Bless You Clarkes for ALL you did for Missy
Chanel.

Chanel not only had pneumonia but it was discovered she had puppy flu and
her lungs were still very full something the surgeons didn't expect to find
when they did exploratory surgery yesterday to find out what is causing her
continued coughing spasms that get so bad she would need oxygen tank to get
her breathing back to normal. Chanel is out of pain, no coughing anymore
and running at the bridge with her siblings gone before and all the other
hounds.

My heart goes out to the Clarke family and I want to personally thank them
for giving her 2 months of LOVE and HAPPINESS while she was in their care
and quickly became a cherised family member at the Clarke household. Please
keep them in your prayers and thoughts as they get through this difficult
time.

Hug your hounds and cherish every moment you have with them.
