I have to say I have taken offense to Cathy's remark about how Reba just had
major surgery and I should "give the poor girl a break" and I have told her
so. I was merely asking for advice on whether or not this was normal and
what I could do to help her. I have always had animals and every one of my
animals was spayed. Other than maybe some same night vomiting, all my
animals bounced back and were eating and drinking fine the next day, albeit
maybe not as much as usual. I had a choc. Lab who after being neutered, came
home and jumped off the top of 4 stairs into the yard and acted as if
nothing had even happened. I really expected Reba to be feeling a little
better this morning and when she didn't seem to be, I was concerned. My vet
doesn't open until 10 on Friday and I wasn't sure if I should be concerned
about the persistent vomiting so when in doubt, check with the droolers,
they'll know. I did speak with my vet later this morning and was
reassured this is normal in some dogs and she should be starting to feel a
little better by evening. She told me to boil some hamburger and rice and
offer that. Its sitting in the bowl now untouched but hopefully she'll start
eating soon. As if I didn't feel guilty enough about having her undergo
surgery, now she really feels crummy..
