[Dailydrool] Just a Dog

Regarding Sue's statement that there is something wrong with loving our 
bassets the way we do.....now when my 2 leggers where small, I was told 
I spoiled them...there are books and people out there to tell us how to 
raise our two leggers too!     I did what was in my heart and continued 
to spoil them....now I have  Honey and Leroy to love and spoil....it 
really is not spoiling, we treat them as we would treat anyone.    We 
have to realize that there are all sorts of ideas of why dogs are here 
with us...we tend to think they are here to add to our lives and we add 
to theirs.........We took Leroy and Honey to Okracoke NC on vacation 
early May.......Most everyone just loved our dogs....then one guy asked 
us....do you hunt....NO...do you breed them.....NO......well what good 
are the dogs then!  It hurt when they said that and made us not like 
those people......it is hard.    People just treat dogs differently, as 
long as they do not  abuse them.    Sue needs more time with her 
basset.....she will turn around.......wait till she tries to trim a 3 
year old's nails - they are allot thicker and harder to cut then!     
One year olds are a breeze!   Never stop loving our bassets the way we 
do!  We need their love back too!

hhhh a few drools for Leroy.....he hurt his knee running around, and 
needs to stay put for awhile so it can heal.....he is getting better 
each day.  But I am not used to a quiet LEROY!    He has not gotten into 
any mischief lately!
