Thanks to the marvels of digital technology electronic collars are
individually addressable and have multiple levels of "stimulation" and
even failsafe mechanisms. Bark collars have relatively sophisticated
transducers and filter circuits which pretty much prevent the wrong
pooch from getting zapped.

Simply another training tool. Rewards are good to get a dog to do
something. Aversion is good to get a dog NOT to do something.
