Hi all you Droolers:

This is my first time posting to the DD - but having lurked for a few weeks now, I need some help with our latest basset puppy.
Lucie is our 4th basset, but our first female - not that her gender makes any difference in this case. She is 5 months old.

She engages in coprophagia - that is, she eats her own poop and has done so on & off since we got her at 12 weeks. The vet gave us 6 days worth of "Forbid" which was only 1/2 successful. We've been diligent about watching her when she's out in the yard, and pick up her poop right away. Sometimes she's good about leaving it - has a sniff and then walks away. A couple of times, we've even gone out and found a little pile just left on the ground.
Other times - she eats it up right away. She was getting Kirkland Puppy Food and then I changed to Innova - but she got very loose stool, which she still ate. Took Lucie to the vet who suggested Medi-Cal Gastro Food and she's got regular stool now, but still eats it.
We will try pineapple. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks.

Karen
