Red is a manly color..think Canadian Mounties...they always get their man! 
Besides Hushy who is a very manly houndie would like to add that he has both 
a red coat and a red collar with pewter bones.  Red is also the color of 
Ferrari..and clearly that is a manly vehicle.. RIGHT enough said.
Wear the collar with pride...
