[Dailydrool] Trading for Treats

This is a great thread and so useful!
I used to "trade for treats" with Miko. From the time she was a pup I
started trading for treats with her because she was so aggressive about so
many things and once she got something, she would not give it up, and you
did not want to make her give it up. She eventually grew out of that, but
she always knew what to do when I told her, "trade."

Beaver and Rosey are learning to trade. But for them, I think they've
learned, "if I take dad's hearing aid, then I get a treat. If I run out the
door with dad's wallet, then I get a treat." So I don't think there's been
an actual connection between the item that needs giving up, and "trade."

Bess does not trade. She has taken "El Queeno" to a whole new level. And I
figure at 13 years old, she can have whatever she wants unless it causes a
problem with the other dogs. This morning I was handing out turkey necks,
and I had hers and Beaver's in one hand, and she took both like a snapping
alligator, and getting Beaver's turkey neck OUT of her mouth was a comedy or
errors. She couldn't figure out how to eat both of them at the same time, so
she dropped one, then stood over it. Beast! I moved her aside and pick it
up, then gave it to Beaver, but she was not going to "trade" nothing for it.
