I called Canidae headquarters in California yesterday and spoke with a
customer service person by the name of Beth, I told her how unhappy I was with
their changing the formula and she said that she understood,
however, with the high demand for rice and a world wide shortage, they felt
compelled to change their formula. I then asked her about Canidae having
Diamond do the manufacturing and she said "YES that is true " She said that
they have out grown their manufacturing facility and needed to find another
manufacturer. She of course assured me that Diamond has made significant changes
at their plant and have inspections every 30 days to check for problems
such as contamination. she also said that canidae will furnish all of it's own
ingredients, and that diamond will only do the manufacturing of the food .
She told me that Diamond manufactures over 75 % of all dog food in the USA.
Even the " high quality food " They feel confident that they have a safe
product and facility. Doesn't help me one bit as Maggie is allergic to BARLEY.
She said that they have added some other ingredients to the lamb and rice that
may cause some loose stool for a few days ????? until the dog adjust to the
new formula. she told me what it was but i dont remember. and it is going to
be manufactured back East. I believe she said S Carolina

I am trying to switch my girls over to California Natural lamb and Rice, but
they are having soft stools right now, I hope this will go away, they are
both scooting . not runny just soft.
