Subject: [Dailydrool] Dog food Opinions?
Well I did take the time to read the Canidae All Life Formula bag today and
it does contain barley. I guess the web site hasn't caught up yet. I
personally feel like Canidae is still a premium quality dog food. Canidae still
guarantees that their food is human quality and all manufactured in the U.S.
Lets face it, the reason they changed it is because of the rice shortage. They
would have had to raise the price beyond affordable if they continued with
the same formula. They say they wanted to introduce "diversified grains" for
sometime now. Hmmmm....maybe I believe that, maybe I don't. As far as it being
made at the Diamond Company doesn't bother me all that much. First off I
believe it was their Canadian plant that had the issue (Canidae is made 100% in
the South Carolina facility) and secondly each food company orders their own
food sources and has it delivered to the Diamond Company. Now Diamond does
manufacture their own brand of pet food that ranges from the ewww to premium.
I would personally never buy a Diamond brand food. Too much risk for cross
contamination. Canidae's food never comes into contact with any other brand of
food at the Diamond plant. Since Canidae only has premium human grade food
products I am ok with the change in manufacturing. So in my opinion even
though the formula has changed Candae still offers a well balanced quality dog
food.
Thanks.
