[Dailydrool] Wyatt needs your help!

Many of you will recognize Wyatt as the Basset with osteosarcoma.
He's doing fine on the 'Cancer'...  but a couple days ago, he hurt his good leg when it slid off the ramp I built him.  He's having trouble standing... once standing he's fine, but he slips on the hardwood.  He was geting around fine on 3 legs before this... but he's having some trouble on hardwood or slippery surfaces.  

I am going on Vacation on 7/25.. and I may very well stay home and let my wife take the kids if it comes to that... but I'm not going to put him down because he has a sprained leg, and I'm not going to leave him at home with 2 30 minute visits from the petsitter!

What I'm asking is if anyone in the virginia vicinity(I'm in Richmond) knows of someone or someplace that can keep him for the week. I would gladly pay whetever is appropriate.   But he needs more attention... and I can't leave a dog with this injury for a week.  Now, he could be better by the time we leave on Friday.. but as it stands now, I'm staying hom with the dog!

He was doing so well until Wednesday afternoon. I commented that I thought he could get by in 3 legs.. but then his sister(another 11 year old basset) took him down near his food dish... and the following morning, he got his good leg stuck in a crack in the side of the ramp(between the railing) and couldn't get it out. Since then, he's having trouble getting up on slippery sufaces, and his limp is more pronounced. I think he twisted his ankle as it's the ankle on the 'good' leg that seem to be slipping. He has a great appetite and is very excited to see people and life.. he just can't stand well to do it.   Doggie wheelchair anyone?

Can anyone help? I know I don't know you, but if you're on this board, you must be a Basset Lover... and I will drive as far as needed.   

Also.. vacation is in Florida. We're driving to Daytona from Richmond, Va, so if there is someone or someplace along that rout..  we could drop him off.. or if you're in Maryland or Northern Va.. I can drive up on Thursday.  He just needs to stay WITH someone.

Any advice would be a great help...
