[Dailydrool] Drool works!

A few days ago I asked for a little drool for Fritz, the Lhasa Apso mix who
wasn't eatting. He got into rescue on friday night, (thank Dog the Shih Tzu
rescue we called took him; turns out that I was told wrong, and he's
actually a Lhasa Apso mix, but his foster momma said he's the sweetest pup
she's met, so was happy to take him!), and he hadn't eatten a thing since
then! His foster momma said she was worried, as he was throwing up bile
daily due to not eatting. Well, she has been updating me on his progress,
and he did eat some last night! She decided that she was desperate and
decided to get some canned chicken on her way home last night, and she said
he did actually eat it!! Only about 5 bites, but she was happy, and tried to
put some kibble on it, and he turned his nose up and waddled away! She said
that she tried to explain he was being a jerk by not eatting his kibble, as
there are starving dogs out there, but he would have none of it! But,
regardless, he's eatten something, so she's hoping he will continue to, even
if it's a diet of canned chicken for now. The bit of drool worked wonders!
He's still not out of the woods yet, as he had 9 incisors removed, and they
have to heal, he needs to be neutered and she's made him an apt. with an eye
specialist to see what is the cause of the partial blindness, and if
anything can be done about it. The saddest thing so far is, she said that
most everything they've had fixed to date (teeth, some skin issues that are
being worked on, shots, etc.) is due to neglect on his owners behalf. Now,
well those of you working rescue are thinking same old story, this is the
first dog I've helped get into rescue, and the fact that he could still be a
happy, healthy dog, if only his owners thought to take him to the vet once
in awhile is seriously aggrivating to me!! I suposse it's par for the
course, but seriously, it's irksome!!

Fritz and his foster momma thank everyone for the drool, and hope he can
continue this upswing health wise! The boys here are still sending drool to
those who need it.
