[Dailydrool] Im the Real Bob

A couple of days ago I had a handyman come over to give us an
estimate for installing a dog door in the wall by the back door for
our Elsinore, who loves to play the in-and-out game all day long
whether she really has to go or not. I do not enjoy this game at all,
and if I don't play it with her, she whines, paces, and bumps me hard
with her hip. And she can keep it up for hours. I know because I've
tried to wait her out. So we're in the process of getting a dog door.
It's more involved than it sounds because it will require
reconstructing a walled-in dead space and turning part of it into a
much-needed coat closet.

When Ken came home from work, I told him that Bob had been by to take
a look at our dog door/closet situation, and Ken asked, without a
trace of poking fun in his voice, "Not Bob the Dog? Bob the Dog was
HERE?" I was highly amused. Apparently Ken really has been listening
to me when I tell him about what's going on with the Drool folks,
people and hounds he likes to refer to as my "imaginary friends"
because he thinks I'm just making everyone up. Apparently he's also
noted the Bob the Dog photo I put on the refrigerator, too. I had to
tell him that, though Bob the Dog is quite handy (if I'm remembering
correctly, he fixes broken hearts?) it wasn't Bob the Dog who came to
our house. At least not this time. If Bob the Dog ever finds himself
in Nashville, he's most welcome to come visit. Maybe we'll even have
a dog door for him to try out.
