Since today is Friday the 13th, I thought it was unfortunate enough to take
the girls to the vets for annual check ups, shots, and pedicures and the
dent it took out of the paycheck this week. Hubby called me on my way home
from work and asked what the day was and I told him Friday 13th. He had
something to add to the girl's story.

We are very fortunate that we live in a rural area, and have access to
private land with a mountain, and paths for running the dogs off leash.
Very fortunate. Well, today, off Daisy and Lilly went arooo-ing and happy
to be sprung early from thier crates. Hubby said they weren't out of the
truck 5 minutes when the aroo-ing tone changed.

Seems like they cornered a porcupine. When Daisy turned around to look at
him, he said she looked like a billy goat! She had a nice mustach and beard
of quills, all the dark ones (on a white snoot) and Lilly had the light
colored quills on the black "rubber" part of her nose. Poor girls.

Thankfully, all was resolved and removed before I got home. I had my panic
attack in the car all alone. ;-)

It looks like all the quills have been removed, there are none in the mouth,
or eyes. I understand these will travel deeper into tissue if not removed.
Anyone out there have any experiance with this? What should I look for?
(I did look in the mouths and everywhere, it appears he did a good job of
quill removal) but If not, what should I look for?

Welcome to Flash the foster failure - bassets are like 'tato chips, I just
found out recently that you CAN"T have just one!
I am so sorry for Wyatt's dad. As everyone has said, He will let you know
when it is time. Be with him when he makes his trip to the bridge. It is
hard, believe me, but for me, it was sooooo good to see my boy in pain no
longer.

Drool for all those who need it - we got plenty!
