[Dailydrool] Another really easy way to make dog steps

I am just catching up on Drools, working my way from most recent through the past several days, and noticed the thread on making dog steps and ramps.

We had a very easy way of doing this for our old Scottie years ago. Think Legos. My husband and I took about a dozen (more if you want wider) cinder blocks and built a staircase from the floor to the bed. It took three layers--6 bricks (2 bricks across, 3 bricks deep) on the bottom layer; 4 bricks (2 bricks across, two deep) on the middle layer, 2 bricks (side by side) for the top layer.

So that the steps wouldn't be so rough, we cut up an old blanket. On each layer, we put flat blanket across the step and tucked the corners underneath the cinderblocks of that layer on all four sides. The end product was sturdy, cheap, and attractive enough.

Scotties are not as long as bassets, so it is possible that a basset staircase would need to be wider and deeper, but I'm sure adjusting the number of blocks on each layer would do the trick. Again, think Legos.
