OMG, you had quite a terrible experience.  Thank goodness that you had the 
Dazer!  Poor you and poor Elwood...and poor you again!

That said, call Animal Control tomorrow and file a formal complaint.  I'd 
also call the police because the dog was not only dangerous to Elwood, but 
to you!  You didn't say if the dog was in the house, or fenced but there is 
no way that you should have to be afraid to walk down a street in your own 
neighborhood.  I wouldn't care a fig about upsetting the new neighbors. 
They should be concerned about what happened to you and your dog!

Please keep us updated.  You are probably going to hurt tomorrow, but you 
are a hero because you saved Elwood from a possible injury.  I'm sure that 
Brother Elwood will want to give his version of the story within the next 
few days...once he catches his breath.
