[Dailydrool] hounds and coyotes question

We go out to our place in Sedona, AZ quite a bit and sometimes see coyotes in the neighborhood. We know that shouting and banging things works to scare them off but a recent attack on a dog (11 yr old poodle/terrier mix)in a neighboring area has me more concerned. Also, walking 2 hounds does not leave extra hands. Does anyone know if the Dazer would work for coyotes or have a better idea? I know my 60 lbs boys would get their dander up but it may not be enough with the coyotes becoming braver. FYI-the dog will recover but has major wounds.
